Work wanted

Hello,

My name is Karen and I am a resident of Galiano Island. I operate a web design and print publishing business out of Manzanita Ville by Sturdies Bay...a great thing... but there are periods of low activity and it would also be great to have another, stable part-time job as a safety net.

I am therefore looking for part-time work one or two days a week at a restaurant, tourism/outdoor adventure outfit, a non-profit organisation, a farm, in caregiving or other work in services or trades.

My skills include:

Project management/coordination
Office administration
Customer service
General "know how"
Good at building things and operating tools (little experience though)
Arts and crafts, including traditional dark room photography, sewing and creativity in general
Web usability and graphic design
And many more...!

I have knowledge of sustainable development, green purchasing, community planning and environmental issues through my past work with ICLEI -Local Governments for Sustainability.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UBC.

My interests include organic and local food production, drawing and illustrating, book design and print publishing, affordable housing and architecture, simple living and the fine arts.
