Monday May 21st at 5:30pm at the Community Hall

We will be making three traditional vegetarian curries; Aloo Gobi (cauliflower), Bharta (Eggplant) Curry, and a Chick Pea Curry, to be served on Pilau Rice.

Please bring containers to take home food, and a $15 to $20 contribution.

Everyone is invited to join the seniors walking group on Tuesday May 22nd for a walk with a doctor. “Walk with your doc” is a BCMA provincial event designed to encourage active lifestyles for all ages. Dr Cathy Stephenson, a resident of Galiano, will be joining the seniors walking group at the Lion’s Hall from 1030-1130 on May 22nd.

Free pedometers to be distributed to participants, plus an opportunity to talk to Dr Cathy about activities that can keep us healthy.

Light refreshments by donation.

Soup & Bread – A Lunch for Everyone - May 28th

Soup is sometimes more than soup. It's sustenance, comfort, a lifesaver, and a social glue.

On May 28th at the South Hall. Lunch will be open to everyone at 12:30pm.
This event is a fundraiser for the Food Program’s Soup for Seniors Project
There is a suggested donation of $5-$10

The next soup-making kitchen is scheduled for May 28th at 10:30am at the South Hall.

Once we have made the soup, we always sit down together to eat, before we begin clean up and packaging. This month, we would like to invite everyone to join us for lunch, just soup and bread, at about 12:30pm.

Mothers' Day pancake breakfast at the North Community Hall, 10 am to 1 pm. All welcome. Give Mom a break! Adults $7, kids 10 and under, $4. Fruit salad, sausage, pancakes, jam and syrup, coffee, tea and juice.

Greenhouse/Spring Starts Work Party – Saturday April 28th at 1:30pm

We’ll be potting up our mature transplants, and seeding cucumbers and melons, and succession planting of other crops. Please bring your own containers and pots.
We’ll also be preparing the greenhouse for planting.

We’ll continue preparing the greenhouse for planting, and transplanting adult seedlings. We will do succession planting of other crops. Please bring your own containers and pots.
We will also begin making plans for the ongoing greenhouse use. More people are welcome to join the year round greenhouse group.

Food Safe Level 1 - June 10th

The Galiano Club Community Food Program and the Galiano Chamber of Commerce are offering Food Safe Level 1 on island. The course will take place June 10th at the South Community Hall. The class runs from 10am to 6pm. The cost of the course is $75, which includes the workbook and certificate upon completion.
