The Galiano Activity Centre Society (GACS) was founded in 1981. GACS is registered as a non-profit society in British Columbia, and is registered as a charitable organization with Revenue Canada.

Galiano Fitness Centre

The Galiano Fitness Centre, located behind the Galiano Community School and Activity Centre, is operated by the Galiano Activity Centre Society.

The Society

GACS is responsible for managing community use of the Activity Centre located at the Galiano Community School, Galiano Island, British Columbia. The Activity Centre consists of a full-size gymnasium, meeting room, kitchen, and storage room.

GACS is funded by individual donors and by grants from the Galiano Parks & Recreation Commission, the Capital Regional District, Industry Canada's Community Access Program, and Human Resource Canada's Summer Career Placement Program.

Community Workshops

A variety of continuing education community workshops are offered at the Activity Centre.

Children's Summer Program

Each summer the Activity Centre Society sponsors a summer activity and education program for children that runs daily during July and August. The summer program homepage is here: Children's Summer Program
