Go Lions! plus: Visit me during Wacky Saturday
Dear Galiano Island,
GO LIONS !
I'm happy to report a very successful meeting with the Lions last night. They showed me a tremendous amount of hospitality and gave me more time during their meeting than I deserved. In the end, I believe they came away sharing my vision for bolstering Galiano's ability to reach out to ourselves and visitors through the web.
I'm very pleased to announce that the Lion's will be using ActiveGaliano's Calendar feature, and they'll be entering their events very early in the new year. They've also got an entry in the new "Directory". (see below).
WACKY SATURDAY ?
Just another Saturday on Galiano Island you say? Check out our Calendar for this coming Saturday. It's jam packed with stuff to do. http://activegaliano.org/calendar-galiano-island-events/2009-12-05 (Thanks to everyone for putting their events in: the Health Care Society, the Residents and Owners Association, the OCP, the Galiano Club, Insight Art Gallery)
Speaking of Saturday, ActiveGaliano is planning on giving a couple website demos at the GumBoot Social. So if you go, drop in and say hello. I'll most often be at the Community and Economic Development table. Bring a friend along, get them to subscribe to this newsletter!
NEW DIRECTORY LISTINGS
News Flash: ActiveGaliano now allows you to create "Organization Directory Listings". Some entries are already in there, but if you see that your organization is missing, please do make an entry. It's free as always and ultimately will be a great resource both for us locals as well as visitors. (I'll keep the directory off the main page until it is more complete.)
Here's the list so far, along with a link on how to add your entry. http://activegaliano.org/directory
Oh... and one last thing: the Bookstore has a signing this coming Sunday. Check your favorite Calendar to find it. ;-)
cheers!
Christian
