Shore Access Now on Map. Got a point to add?
Dear Galiano Island,
I'm happy to announce that, thanks to the hard work of Galiano Parks and Rec and their published Shore Access pamphlet, I've been able to put pins on the Active Galiano map that show the locations of all their hard work. They've been making the trails passable, and marking them with clear signs.
Go to the Active Galiano main page, and you'll see a map widget part way down. The Red Balloons are Directory Entries (that have had their locations filled in) and the Green Balloons are the public Shore Accesses.

Market Gardener seeks Housemates on Galiano

Newbies Like Shorts
Dear Galiano Island,
I'd love to post a list of videos that new islanders can be shown to give them an idea of REAL LIFE on Galiano. And rather than be the final arbiter, I might put each video up for a thumbs up, thumbs down vote, if there are sufficient suggestions.
Do you know of a video, perhaps posted to YouTube, or Vimeo or the like, that all newcomers should watch?
I'll start the nominations off with Galiano Grows: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fc1ZGYzpC6s
... because I can't find the Nettle Solution.
(I'm looking forward to your responses).
Thinking About Moving to Galiano... Little Help Please
Hi all,
My wife and I are planning a move to the island with our two boys aged 2 and 5. We'll hold on to our jobs in Vancouver as we both work online, and plan on going into our respective offices a few times per month for meetings, but we have a few things we need to figure out if we're going to make this work.
We'll definitely need help in the childcare dept. Is there a daycare on the island, or better yet, how hard would it be to find somebody with a drivers license to come to our home to watch our youngest boy?
