The New Volunteer Opportunities Page

Dear Galiano Island,

A new feature has been added to the Active Galiano website. Now, your Events, Directory Entries and Blogs (a.k.a. Discussion Starters) have a field associated with them called "Volunteers Needed?".

If you choose the option indicating that your posting needs volunteers, then your posting will appear on the new Volunteer Opportunities page: http://activegaliano.org/volunteer-opportunities

That page lives under the slightly rearranged main navigation menu under the "Community" option.

Calendar Events appear in the "Date Based" volunteer opportunities section, whereas Directory Entries and Discussion Starters with this setting appear in the "Ongoing" section at the bottom of the page.

Ralph Griffiths at the Active Page has agreed to receive a snapshot of the list for October. If there are sufficient postings, I'll make sure he gets a copy for the October Issue deadline of the Active Page (September 15th in just a couple days!).

SO... if you have an event or on-going volunteer opportunity, make sure it gets onto Active Galiano fast!
