Where should the money go?

Dear Galiano Island,

Long time no chat.

We're going to roll out some space for local business ads, on the website and on the printouts. Every last penny of money that comes to Active Galiano will go back out to community development projects and it's time to decide which community development project deserves any funds that Active Galiano can raise.

Do you have a suggestion for a community development project that's in need of funding?

I'm interested in projects that contribute to the triple-solution of sustainable community growth on Galiano Island. Jobs-Housing-Culture. If you have a project that contributes to one, two or all three of those things, I'm interested.

After gathering your suggestions, we'll put out a poll, and anyone with an Active Galiano account will be able to vote. The project with the highest number of votes will get whatever money is raised.

Deadlines for ideas will be September 1st, 2010

Oh... and of course it will take volunteer effort to get this to come together. How can you help? 1) make sure your events and classifieds get into Active Galiano 2) help out with publicity efforts 3) help out with graphic design and information architecture... contact me for volunteer opportunities.
