Who Should Get the Money? How to Vote?

Dear Galiano Island,

The deadline for submissions for Community Development Projects has past.

We've received a few pledges of $75 towards Sponsorship Status, and 100% of that money will go directly from the pledges to the winner of our vote which is now open.

Some folks have expressed the idea that they feel guilty picking one project over another. Instead, I would encourage you to think about your personal priorities, and that eventually the other project will be funded later on. Even submitting an project to be voted on does provide some exposure and it gets people thinking.

But if you're a member of an organization (like Galiano Health Care Society or the PAC) it's fairly clear that you're already making a strong statement about your own personal priorities, and you shouldn't be afraid to let your vote speak to those priorities.

Ultimately, we know that everyone who cares about Quality Health Care on Galiano wants young kids to have a better set of equipment, and everyone who cares deeply about kid's chances to play also wants to improve our health care facilities.

Please vote your own personal priority regardless of your affiliations.

To vote, all you need to do is go to the Active Galiano Home Page, and after logging in, you'll see a widget where you can choose.

Thanks everyone! (And if you would like to help me make the rounds of phone calls to organizations that might want "Ads" on Active Galiano, contact me at info@sticksallison.com)

Happy Thanksgiving!
